Hanna Roeckle

Die in der Galerie La Ligne ausgestellten Skulpturen von Hanna Roeckle gehören zu den Werkreihen «Polyeder», «Rosetta» «Crystalline Needles» und «Scutoide». Alle sind sie aus Dreieckflächen gebildet, die sich als Prismen in spitzen Winkeln treffen. Sie lassen sich als säulenartige Stelen im Raum aufstellen oder zu Nadeln gelängt als Wandobjekte betrachten. Sie bieten mit ihren spiegelglatten Oberflächen malerische Ansichten, reflektieren ihre Umgebung und absorbieren sie zugleich. Sie öffnen sich dem Raum und speichern ihn auch.

In ihrer perfekten Ästhetik wirken sie auf s Erste hermetisch. Wer sich näher mit ihnen befasst, merkt aber rasch, wie viel Geheimnisvolles und Unergründliches sie bergen. Mit ihren Werken bringt Hanna Roeckle ihre anstürmenden Gedanken und beunruhigenden Fragen an sich und an die Welt in eine überschaubare Form.

Les sculptures d'Hanna Roeckle exposées à la galerie La Ligne font partie de séries intitulées "Polyèdre", "Rosette", "Aiguilles cristallines" et "Scuture". Elles sont de formes triangulaires qui se rejoignent en prismes aux angles aigus. Elles peuvent être installées dans une pièce comme des stèles ou encore s'apparenter à des objets muraux allongés évoquant des aiguilles. Avec leurs surfaces lisses comme des miroirs, elles offrent un regard surprenant car elles reflètent leur environnement tout en l'absorbent. De la, s'ouvre à nous un espace inouï.

À travers une esthétique parfaitement maîtrisée, ces oeuvres peuvent nous paraître hermétiques au premier abord. Mais celui qui les observe attentivement prend conscience du mystère et de la difficulté de les appréhender qu'elles dégagent.

Hanna Roeckle nous met face à ses propres questionnements sur elle même et le monde qui nous entoure.

The sculptures by Hanna Roeckle on display in Galerie La Ligne belong to the works series Polyhedrons, Rosetta, Crystalline Needles and Scutoids. All are formed from triangular faces that meet at acute angles as prisms. They can be assembled to form free-standing columns or lengthened to form needles that visitors encounter as wall objects. With their smooth, mirror-like surfaces, they create painterly views and both reflect and absorb their surroundings. They open themselves up to the space around them and incorporate it into themselves.

In their aesthetic perfection, they appear hermetic at first sight, but their mysterious and unfathomable depths quickly reveal themselves to those who engage with them. In her works, Hanna Roeckle transforms the thoughts that assail her and the perturbing questions she has for herself and the world into clearly structured forms.
