HEAD – Genève’s Department of Visual Arts is one of the leading artistic programmes in Switzerland. It includes five BA majors and three MA specialisations. A range of theoretical and technical courses supplement this programme. The BA Representation major provides training in painting and drawing techniques with a broad and open perspective on artistic media and a workshop-based education. 


Employment rate: 30% or 50% 

Main features of the assignment: 

– Teaching in the BA Representation major, with a focus on painting and drawing in the context of contemporary art 

– Transmission of practical and conceptual knowledge 

– Monitoring the students’ work in the workshop over the whole BA course: years 1, 2 and 3 to the Bachelor degree 

– Design, development, and monitoring of artistic and cultural projects, in association with the teaching staff (workshops, conferences, colloquia, exhibitions, publications) 

– Involvement in end-of-term assessments and participation in the jury issuing the Bachelor degrees 



– Graduate degree from a School of Art or equivalent career profile 

– At least five years’ artistic activity at national and international level 

– Artistic activity relating to painting and drawing 

– Sound knowledge of current trends in the local, national and international art scenes 

– Ability to lead students towards artistic research that explores the potential of painting and drawing techniques in relation to the broader field of contemporary art 

– Good English language skills 

– Good teamwork skills
