The exhibition is based on the dialogue between the British sculptor Rebecca Warren and the American painter and conceptual artist Wade Guyton. The two artists represent outstanding and decidedly independent positions in international contemporary art and have never before been exhibited together. Combining the paintings and sculptures of Guyton and Warren is a surprising undertaking, but one that promises to be all the more astonishing in its outcome. The exhibition at the Bechtler Stiftung includes some twenty works, some of them large-scale, such as a nearly nine-meter-wide painting by Guyton or towering bronze stelae by Warren. The exhibits were created between the early 2000s and 2020 and come mostly from the Bechtler Collection, supplemented by a few selected loans.
